What do you think of this story idea? - schizophrenia treatment 1950s
Well, it's a little different:
It takes place in the 1950s, the main character (the boy) was in an affluent family in the age of seven years or less adopted. It is almost 16 years old. He suffers from schizophrenia and mild emotional trauma as a result of physical (not sexual) are adopted to prevent misuse. I know that many families in this time "would be mentally ill," institutons family, but because the family is rich, can afford to get good doctors and the latest treatments at home for him. Introduced after the beginning of the story, the family a new doctor (we were not up) with, which is slightly younger than the previous one, but of course is a professional satisfaction. Note that at this time was not too well knownMental Illness at the time. However, the main character develops a deep love to guess his doctor (who is gay, so why not?), But recognizes it as "remarkable" and is very lonely, so he does not know what to do.

But quite honestly, I think it will be difficult to write. Is it the time and research on schizophrenia, because you need your exact coordinates. Plan is good, and make sure it is not too difficult to follow. If your stuff together, I think it could very rewarding. I want to read!
Seems interesting, but you better check to write a character with schizophrenia very well, which means that you probably do well.
